Dr. Ananya Puttaraju is a Senior Consultant & HOD – Orthopaedics. He graduated from J.J.M. Medical College, Davangere, in 2003 and moved to England to pursue higher training in Orthopaedics. He completed 3 years of Basic Surgical Training in Manchester and was conferred CCBST in 2007. He was selected for the prestigious MCh (Orth) in 2008 and completed 2 years of Registrar Training at Wrightington Hospital, UK.
He gained expertise in Joint Replacement Surgery working at Wrightington Hospital, which is the premier Joint Replacement Unit in the world and home of Sir John Charnley who is credited with being the father of joint replacement surgery. He has been trained in premier UK hospitals including Tameside General Hospital, Manchester Hospital, Wigan Royal Infirmary, Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital, and completed his higher surgical training and obtained the FRCS (Orth) UK degree from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2012.
He was selected for Super Specialty Training in Foot & Ankle Surgery at Golden Jubilee National Hospital, Glasgow—the premier orthopaedic center in Scotland. He became an expert in managing complex foot & ankle conditions including diabetic Charcot Disease, sports injuries, arthritis, pilon fractures, and ankle replacement. He also worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon—lower limb specialist in Joint Arthroplasty and Foot & Ankle Surgery at Tameside General Hospital, UK, for 2.5 years and was the Lead for National Hip fracture Database and was instrumental in morbidity and mortality reduction in elderly geriatric patients.
He has published and presented at various International Forums. Apart from these, he has also led various clinical governance committees and gained expertise in clinical risk management and medical audits. Dr. Ananya passionately believes in one mantra — “Patient comes first.”
